What Six Years of Building Solo Para Ti Has Taught Me
This month, Solo Para Ti turned six years old. It really doesn't even feel like it was siz years ago, feels just like yesterday if I am being honest. When I started this business in June of 2020 while I was in college getting my bachelor's, I didn't know about what six years down the road would look like. I just I know was focused on making products I genuinely believed in, learning as I went, and knowing that I was destined for more.
Since then, Solo Para Ti has grown in ways I never could have imagined. We've been featured on CBS News, won business pitch competitions, partnered with incredible brands and wellness studios, hosted community events across New Jersey and beyond, and had the opportunity to meet thousands of people who now make our products part of their daily rituals.
As exciting as those milestones are, they only tell part of the story.
The real growth happened behind the scenes in the lessons, the mistakes, the pivots, and the moments that forced me to become a better leader.
Whether you're building a business, starting a new chapter, or simply working toward something that's important to you, these are the six lessons that have stayed with me.
1. Trust your instincts.
One thing I've learned is that your intuition usually knows before your mind catches up.
Some of our best opportunities didn't come from having the "perfect" strategy. They came from saying yes to collaborations that felt aligned, trying new ideas before they felt comfortable, and trusting that the right opportunities would reveal themselves along the way.
Not every decision has been the right one, but I've learned that I'd rather trust my instincts than make every choice based on fear.
2. Choose faith over fear.
There has never been a moment where I felt 100% ready.
Launching products, applying for opportunities, speaking at events, hiring a team, investing back into the business...every new season came with uncertainty. I've realized confidence doesn't come first. Action does. Most of the things I'm proudest of today started with taking one small step before I felt completely prepared.
3. Be thoughtful about who you build with.
One of the biggest surprises of entrepreneurship has been learning how important relationships are. The people around you can either help your vision grow or quietly pull you away from it. Over the years, I've become much more intentional about choosing collaborators, mentors, and team members who genuinely believe in the mission. Shared values matter just as much as shared goals.
4. You can't do everything yourself.
For a long time, I wore every hat. Founder, customer service, shipping department, photographer, social media manager, event coordinator...you name it. While those seasons taught me a lot, they also taught me that sustainable growth requires support.
Every person who's contributed to Solo Para Ti, from interns and collaborators to photographers, event partners, and customers, has played a role in helping us become what we are today. Building something meaningful is rarely a solo effort.
5. Believe in your vision before asking anyone else to.
There will be seasons when the only person who fully understands your vision is you. That's normal. The early days often look quiet and repetitive from the outside. Progress isn't always obvious, and validation doesn't always come when you want it to.
Keep showing up anyway. Consistency has a way of creating momentum, even when it doesn't feel like it in the moment.
6. The business will build you before you build it.
This might be the lesson that has stayed with me the most. When I started Solo Para Ti, I thought I was creating a skincare brand. What I didn't realize was that the process would shape me just as much. It taught me patience when things moved slower than I wanted.
It taught me resilience after setbacks. It taught me how to lead, how to ask for help, how to communicate, and how to keep showing up even when things felt uncertain.
Looking back now, I can see that every pop-up event, every late-night packing order, every networking event, every product launch, and every conversation added up over time. Growth doesn't always happen in dramatic moments.

People often ask what the biggest lesson has been over the last six years.
It's simple: don't underestimate what can happen when you keep showing up.
Whether you're building a business, changing careers, starting a creative project, or simply becoming the person you want to be, remember that progress isn't measured in one big breakthrough. It's measured in the small decisions you make every day.
